Google Tasks MCP
Manage your own Google Tasks from Claude Desktop, using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Google Tasks MCP is a small program that runs on your own computer. It connects Claude Desktop, an AI assistant app, to the official Google Tasks API. Once you have authorized it with your Google account, you can ask Claude in plain language to show, create or tidy up your tasks.

What it can do
The features below are the ones the software actually implements.
- View your task lists: see every Google Tasks list in your account.
- Look up tasks: list tasks by list or by due-date range (open, completed or all), search task titles and notes for a word or phrase, and view the full details of a single task.
- Create and edit tasks: add tasks (with notes, a due date and subtasks), change a task's title, notes or due date, mark tasks complete or reopen them, and move or reorder tasks, including moving them to another list.
- Delete tasks: delete a single task, or clear out all completed tasks in a list.
- Manage lists: create, rename and delete task lists. Deleting a list requires an explicit confirmation.
- Use natural language: you ask Claude something like "what's due this week?" or "add 'renew passport' to my Personal list for Friday", and Claude calls the matching tool for you.
Limitations
- Repeating tasks cannot be created or edited, because the Google Tasks API does not support recurrence.
- Due dates are dates only. The Google Tasks API does not support due times.
- An optional read-only mode can be turned on. In that mode the app requests read-only access and none of the create, edit or delete features are available.
How it works
- You authorize it with Google. The first time you set it up, a browser window opens Google's own sign-in and consent page. You choose whether to grant access to Google Tasks. The app never sees your Google password.
- It runs on your computer. Claude Desktop starts Google Tasks MCP as a local process on your computer. There is no Google Tasks MCP server on the internet, and no account to create with us.
- It talks only to Google. When Claude asks for your tasks, the local program calls the Google Tasks API (
tasks.googleapis.com) directly from your computer, using the authorization you granted, and passes the result back to Claude Desktop.
Access requested: Google Tasks only. The scope is https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks, or https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks.readonly in read-only mode. The app does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service.
Where your data goes: Your tasks and your Google access token are not sent to peqdo.com or to any server run by the developer. Task content you ask Claude about is shown to Claude inside your Claude Desktop conversation. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

工作原理：你通过 Google 的官方授权页面授予 Google Tasks 访问权限。程序由 Claude Desktop 在你的电脑上本地启动，直接调用 Google Tasks API。它只申请 Google Tasks 权限，不访问 Gmail、云端硬盘、日历等其他 Google 服务。你的任务数据和访问令牌不会发送到 peqdo.com，也不会发送到开发者的任何服务器。
